The second stage of consultation has launched today to improve two key roads linking Leeds to Wakefield and Pontefract.

A special operation to tackle illegal, dangerous, and anti-social driving on Leeds’ roads has seen nearly 6,000 motorists arrested, fined or warned over their behaviour. 

Have your say on the proposals, between the centre of Leeds and Hyde Park and Woodhouse areas of the city, by Monday 16 December 2024.

Motorists travelling into Leeds are being encouraged to plan ahead for what is typically the busiest time of year on the city centre’s roads.

Local residents, schools and businesses are being asked to feedback on proposals to improve walking and cycling routes around the Crossgates area. 

The £2.91m proposals aim to reduce bus delays whilst improving the street environment for visitors and shoppers with wider pavements, planting and landscaping and more crossing points to encourage active travel journeys.
