Over the last few months, Leeds City Council has been looking at a number of options to tackle major financial pressures to establish a sustainable budget for 2023/24.  As part of this, consideration was being given to the possible introduction of parking charges at its major parks along with some community parks.

Leeds Civic Leaders Plant Tree in Honour of Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

In a civic ceremony attended by Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Sue Baker JP, on Friday (11th March 2022), the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr. Asghar Khan, and Leader of Leeds City Council, Cllr. James Lewis planted a young Acer Palmatum (Atropurpureum) tree at Golden Acre Park to mark Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
