Update on Apperley Bridge traffic management as Flood Alleviation works continue

Due to adverse weather conditions across the winter months, a new timeline for Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme Phase 2 (FAS2) works in Apperley Bridge has been formulated. Steps have been taken to reduce the impact of temporary traffic management measures on Harrogate Road.

The murals, painted by artist James Mayle and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund celebrate heritage and wildlife, add vibrancy to the area and act as a deterrent for vandalism.

Plan ahead: partial closures around Apperley Road, Harrogate Road and Parkin Lane in Apperley Bridge start on 23 August 2023 for flood alleviation works

Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme Phase 2 (LFAS2) works to protect areas of Apperley Bridge from flooding are progressing well, with the strengthening of Apperley Lane Bridge expected to be completed by Thursday 24 August.

The next phase of Leeds FAS2 works in the area will begin immediately afterwards and will require partial road closures in the area. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
