Morley Town Deal and Leeds City Council’s five-million-pound plans to refurbish Morley Town Hall as a focal point of the community have taken a major step forward with the handover of the building to specialist construction contractors. 

Two historic commercial buildings on Morley’s Queen Street have become the first to be restored and repurposed using Morley Town Deal Heritage Investment Fund grants administered by Leeds City Council.

Plans for a new multi-million-pound learning and skills centre in Morley have taken a significant step forward after work started to convert a former church into a state-of-the-art education centre.

Protection for Morley’s unique architecture and historic character was increased on Tuesday 21 January as a newly combined and enlarged conservation area and management plan was adopted.
