Road surface improvement works set to begin

Highways Transport

A series of road surfacing improvements across Leeds begin tonight (October 30).

Essential maintenance work is to be carried out in Stanningley, Pudsey and Thorpe Park in the coming weeks, with road closures and diversions to be in place in each area.

The works begin tonight at the A647 roundabout on Stanningley Road, at the junction with the A657 Lower Town Street/Henconner Lane. Work will be carried nightly out from 7pm to midnight until the expected completion on Friday 3 November. Road closures and diversions will be in place while the work is undertaken.

From Friday 3 November work will also start in Pudsey at Lidget Hill, Church Lane and Lowtown. Taking place from 7pm to midnight on Monday to Friday and on Sundays as required, phased road closures and diversions will be in place with the work scheduled to be finished by November 24.

The final location to receive surface improvements is Century Way at Thorpe Park in Austhorpe. Starting on Monday 6 November, the work will run until the end of January taking place Monday to Friday 8am-5pm and weekends as required. Road closures and diversions will be in place.

All efforts will be made to carry out the works as quickly and efficiently as possible with the least possible inconvenience.
