Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair returns in February to showcase opportunities

Leeds City Council jobs and skills

The Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair returns to the Leeds first direct arena next month, showcasing apprenticeship opportunities across the city.

The free-to-attend event, running from 2-8pm on Monday 6 February, will feature over 100 exhibitors and employers offering apprenticeship information, advice, and live vacancies. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover more about different apprenticeships, what they involve and how they work, including higher and degree-based apprenticeships.

Exhibitors include major Leeds employers and training providers from a wide range of sectors, such as accounting, business and administration, catering and hospitality, construction, creative design, care services, digital, education, engineering, finance, hair and beauty, health, law, protective services and many more.

Speaking ahead of the event, Councillor Jonathon Pryor, Deputy Leader of Leeds City Council and executive member for economy, culture, and education, said: “Leeds is a highly skilled city full of incredible career opportunities, so it’s pleasing to welcome the Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair back for a tenth year. The fair has helped to inspire thousands of people into jobs and training, with over 6,000 visitors attending last year’s event.

“The range of different business sectors and the number of employers represented at this year’s fair highlights just how vibrant and exciting the job market in Leeds has become as the city continues to attract new employers. Apprenticeships offer something for everyone, from hands-on learning to degree-level qualifications, and are a fantastic route into a wide range of highly skilled careers.

“I would recommend anyone considering an apprenticeship to attend and find out more about the opportunities in Leeds.”

This year’s event will also feature panel discussions from industry leaders, offering insight on apprenticeships in engineering, construction, digital, legal, and financial sectors, together with a discussion by apprenticeship ambassadors.

Key exhibitors include Asda; Channel 4; Leeds City College; Jet 2; Transpennine Route Upgrade; Yorkshire Building Society; Sulzer; GMI Construction; Royal Air Force; Leeds City Council; Gordons LLP; Leeds Beckett University; Yorkshire College of Beauty.

The event takes place at the Leeds first direct arena on Monday, 6 February, between 2 pm and 8 pm. Attendance is free, and everyone is welcome. Tickets are available to book online in advance at: https://bit.ly/LARF2023.
