Deadline of January 31 2026 to re-apply, with 60,000 postal voters in Leeds still needing to do so

The Leader of Leeds City Council has spoken in support of all those affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, the strongest storm to hit the Caribbean in modern history.

Developers have started digging on a major new sports hub in Calverley, set to offer top class sports pitches and a completely new space for the community to meet.

Three new full-sized artificial third generation pitches and one new natural grass pitch will ensure that all local junior sports teams have equal access to quality facilities. 

A regeneration scheme has tapped into the rich architectural and cultural traditions of Leeds to help deliver a bright future for a much-loved city centre street.

The spectacular sights and sounds of Light Night Leeds returned to captivate crowds of thousands as this year’s annual cultural extravaganza got underway.

Many of the city’s most recognisable buildings and public spaces were completely transformed by a compelling programme of illuminated artworks from around the world during the first of the event’s two nights.
