Leeds Art Gallery’s Summer of Sculpture will feature an impressive programme of thought-provoking exhibitions and installations including eye-catching pieces by some of contemporary sculpture’s leading lights.

Visitors find a million reasons to flock to city’s museums

Council-run museums in Leeds are celebrating after new figures revealed they welcomed more than a million visitors through their doors last year.

The eight Leeds Museums and Galleries sites, run by Leeds City Council, saw a total of 1,046,372 people flock to an innovative programme of exhibitions, displays and events, according to statistics just released by the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA).

Historic Leeds 400 challenge calls on city to go the extra mile

The people of Leeds have the chance to be part of 400 years of history by answering the call to take part in a unique new city-wide challenge.

Launching today, the What’s Your 400? campaign has issued a rallying cry to individuals, groups and communities across the city, asking them to get involved in celebrations to mark 400 years since Leeds was awarded its first city charter.
