Yorkshire’s largest apprenticeship fair will return to the city again in 2018

The annual Leeds Apprenticeship Fair which grows in success year on year will once again mark the start of National Apprenticeship Week when it returns to the city on 5 March 2018.

Held at the first direct arena, the event will host over 100 national and regional employers from a range of sectors.

Last year’s event attracted over 6,000 people, offering the perfect opportunity for young people, parents and carers to find out more about the opportunities available, which lead to a paid job offering quality training.

Alongside the news that Yorkshire’s largest apprenticeship fair is returning to Leeds, there is also a series of apprenticeship seminars running throughout November aimed at parents looking for more information on Apprenticeships. National and regional businesses from a range of sectors attend the seminars to talk about the benefits of this type of employment and any open vacancies they have on offer.

Councillor Mohammed Rafique, Leeds City Council’s executive member for employment, skills and opportunity said:

“The apprenticeship fair is growing year on year, and it is great to be able to confirm its return to the city for 2018.

“It is also fantastic to see the range of seminars running this November for parents and carers of young people looking to learn more about the benefits of apprenticeships. These seminars were held earlier this year and following a large amount of positive feedback we received from attendees we have decided to run more.

“To anyone who is interested or considering becoming an apprentice I would strongly encourage you to get in touch with our Apprenticeship Hub for advice and guidance or attend one of our excellent events.”

Any businesses offering apprenticeships and looking to exhibit at the fair in 2018 should email leeds.apprenticeship.hub@leeds.gov.uk
