A fun-filled spring festival is once again set to light up a popular Leeds museum this Sunday.

Held on Sunday 5 April from 11.30am - 4.30pm, visitors to Thwaite Mills Watermill, which is located in Stourton, will be able to enjoy a range of fantastic events and activities. On offer will include a spring market and craft fair, boat rides, a bouncy castle, face painting, biscuit decorating and a chance to meet the Easter bunny. There will also be an opportunity for youngsters to take part in a special Easter bunny trail and win an Easter egg.

One of the last remaining examples of a water-powered mill in Britain, the tranquil island home of Thwaite Mills is also home to a variety of beautiful wildlife and nature trails where you can take a walk along the river or just relax with the family in one of the museum’s picnic areas.

Entry to the festival is part of the normal admission price to Thwaite Mills Watermill.

Councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds City Council’s executive member for digital and creative technologies, culture and skills said:

"We are delighted to be hosting our annual spring festival at Thwaite Mills Watermill which is always a fun occasion for all the family to enjoy.

"As always a range of activities and events will be available, including boat rides, children’s crafts and spring market, and after seeing what is on offer, why not check out one of our nature trails where you can explore the really beautiful island."
