Leeds United Shirt Badge 1956. Image: © Leeds United Football Club
This shirt badge dates from 1956 and shows how the Leeds City crest was used in the design, even down to the motto ‘pro rege et lege’ meaning ‘for the king and the law’. This particular badge was removed from a shirt by an over-enthusiastic fan who later returned the badge to Leeds United. It is particularly special because it was damaged from the Elland Road fire of 1956. Image: © Leeds United Football Club
