His Majesty The King met a range of representatives from the Leeds financial sector at the new Leeds Building Society headquarters on the first day of his trip to Yorkshire. Alongside the Society’s chief executive Richard Fearon, The King spoke to colleagues and leaders from the industry to discuss issues related to the cost-of-living crisis. During his visit, His Majesty unveiled a plaque officially opening the Leeds Building Society head office, which is one of the most energy-efficient buildings in the region, and was presented with a commemorative gold sovereign featuring a portrait of his great great great-grandmother Queen Victoria and dated 1875, the year the building society was founded.
