Raise the temperature in aid of the Lord Mayor’s charity appeal

The people of Leeds and beyond are being offered the unique opportunity to take part in a red hot fundraising event in aid of the Lord Mayor’s charity appeal.

Those who are brave enough will be able to take part in a special fire walking extravaganza on Friday 6 March 2015, which will be held in Millennium Square from 6pm-10pm. All proceeds from the night will be given to the Lord Mayor Cllr David Congreve’s chosen charity this year, the Leeds Children’s Hospital. To book your place in the event, please download a registration form at the following website: www.leeds.gov.uk/lordmayor or contact the Lord Mayor’s office on: (0113) 2474194. Please note, a £15 registration fee is needed to participate, with the event only open to people aged 13+. Any person aged under 16 taking part will need to be accompanied by an adult.

This night is just one of many activities and events’ set to be held this year to raise funds for the Lord Mayor’s charity, which includes a gala and sportsman’s dinner. To find out more about the Lord Mayor’s charity appeal, please see: www.leeds.gov.uk/lordmayor

The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor David Congreve said:

"We are always looking at new and interesting ways to raise money for the Lord Mayor’ charity appeal, and it is very exciting to be hosting a spectacular fire walking event on Millennium Square for one night only next month.

"The event has already attracted a lot of interest, but the good news is there is still an opportunity for people to sign up and raise a lot of money for my chosen charity this year, which is the very worthy Leeds Children’s Hospital."
