Vintage Fair for vintage fare at Leeds Kirkgate Market
Visitors to Leeds Kirkgate Market will be able to encounter a fair to delight all vintage collectors and admirers alike.
On the first Saturday of every month from 10am to 4pm Leeds Kirkgate Market will come alive with Advintageous - a nostalgic fair spanning all the eras.
From time-honoured fashion to homeware over 35 stalls will be celebrating all that is vintage. Enthusiasts and novices alike will be delighted by the selection on offer.
For a donation to St Gemma’s Hospice visitors can even drop into a beauty salon and leave with a new style direct from the 1940s, 50s or 60s, created by students from Leeds City College.
In May as well as shopping for products from throughout the ages, and having a make-over from yesteryear, visitors can also trip the light fantastic in the dedicated entertainment area with the Wakey Lindy Hoppers, or sample one of 44 different gins at Gilli’s Gin Tin – a horsebox converted into a gin bar.
Councillor Jonathan Pryor deputy executive member for culture and city centre management said:
“It’s great to see Kirkgate being used for such an exciting and unique event. The event space means we can hold events like this all year round and celebrate all that is diverse in this great city.
“Kirkgate is already home to some amazing characters, bursting with history and offering great value, but the Vintage Fair will create new business for all our traders.”
