Use your three votes in Leeds City Council elections

Leeds City Council is reminding residents that they can vote for three candidates and not just the usual one in this week’s local elections.

All 99 of the council’s seats are being contested this year due to boundary changes, which means every council area or ward will have three councillor vacancies.

You can watch a video here which explains the process and details about what to do also feature at the top of ballot papers. Polling station staff have also been briefed so they can help if people are still unclear.

Susanna Benton, Leeds City Council’s electoral services manager, said:

“Voters are reminded that they can vote for up to three candidates at these elections, so if you’re not sure what to do read your ballot paper through before filling it in.”

Details can also be found, along with all other necessary information, on the elections pages of the council’s website here.
