Update statement by Leader of Leeds City Council on rail services review

Following yesterday's meeting of the Transport for the North partnership board, Leader of Leeds City Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority representative on the board Councillor Judith Blake said:

“The Transport for the North partnership board meeting demonstrated strong support for the review I am leading into the rail disruption which will set out far-reaching recommendations to ensure this situation is not repeated.

“Board members were united in their determination to secure comprehensive compensation for passengers across the north of England and that reflects the wider economic impact of the chaos in rail services.

“We were also clear that as Northern progresses towards returning to the full timetable, originally due to be implemented last month, it should do so putting the needs of passengers first.”
