Update on proposals to provide additional primary school places in Moor Allerton Hall School:
Executive Board today discussed plans to provide additional school places in north Leeds and concluded to begin a further phase of consultation on an amended proposal.
A report summarising consultation on merging Moor Allerton Hall and Allerton Grange to form three form entry through school has been presented and discussed. However in light of additional conversations with ward members and the school communities as well as an unforeseen change in Ofsted status of one of the schools involved during the period of consultation a change to proposals was felt to be needed.
Cllr Lisa Mulherin, Executive member for children and families said:
“Following meetings with Roundhay and Moortown ward Councillors and visits to Moor Allerton Hall Primary School last week to listen to the children, governors and senior leadership team I have recommended that we move to a further round of consultation to hear the views of a wider range of stakeholders on the expansion of MAH rather than pursue the through School proposal.
“I have therefore asked officers to consult on the expansion to 3 FE of Moor Allerton Hall Primary School before determining a way forward later in the year”
