Update: LCC Household Waste and Recycling Centre opening and bin collection

All Leeds City Council household waste and recycling centres (HWRC) have now reopened, and our refuse crews are all out today catching up on missed collections across the city.

Staff are also supporting vaccination and testing sites and we are ensuring that primary routes continue to be gritted.

Residents are advised to leave bins out until Wednesday if their street has been missed this week, due to adverse weather conditions. Our teams will be emptying as many bins as possible, but with snow and ice still making travel difficult, please note that we may not be able to recover every missed collection.

We advise anyone with a slot booked today at a HWRC only to make the journey if necessary, and to stay safe during your visit. We ask local residents to take care if travelling and to watch out for any vulnerable neighbours who may be affected by the current conditions.

Our teams have worked extremely hard to clear all of our HWRC sites and ensure that bins are emptied despite the extreme weather.
