Statement from Leeds City Council Leader Cllr Judith Blake regarding second gold medal at Rio Paralympics for Hannah Cockroft

The Leader of Leeds City Council, Cllr Judith Blake said:

“We would like to offer our massive congratulations once again to Hannah, who this evening in setting a new world record time claimed her second gold medal in Rio, this time in the 400m T34.

“Hannah is a truly outstanding athlete and role model and we are as a city immensely proud of her achievements.

“There is of course one more event to go for Hannah, and we wish her the very best as she aims for a third gold medal in Rio which is simply amazing.”
