Statement from Leader of Leeds City Council on Barcelona attack

Leader of Leeds City Council Councillor Judith Blake said:

“I am deeply saddened by these awful events in Barcelona today and our condolences and thoughts are with all those affected. On behalf of everyone in Leeds I would like to offer our fullest support to the city of Barcelona and the people of Spain. While the details are still emerging, we in Leeds would like to reiterate we stand shoulder to shoulder with all those who choose understanding, solidarity and compassion over hate and anyone who seeks to divide us through harm or fear.”
