Football fans are being advised that England’s third place play-off match against Belgium on Saturday will not be shown on Millennium Square’s big screen.
This decision was taken following a consideration of the resources that would need to be in place on Saturday to manage and facilitate a designated event-type screening similar to those undertaken on Millennium Square for previous England games at the World Cup.
In total, a crowd of over 20,000 watched England’s journey to the World Cup semi-final on Millennium Square. Leeds City Council would like to thank everyone who created such a wonderful atmosphere supporting Gareth Southgate’s men.
Over the weekend, the Wimbledon tennis women’s final and men’s final will be screened live on the Millennium Square big screen.
