Leeds City Council relaunches popular 'Leeds Says Thanks' scheme for NHS and Frontline workers

The ‘Leeds Says Thanks’ scheme launched today, offering NHS and front-line workers across Leeds discounts and tickets to say thank you for keeping the city and people safe during COVID-19.

Following the success of the ‘Leeds Says Thanks’ initiative launched in 2020, co-ordinated by Leeds City Council, the scheme had returned for another year, with more organisations and businesses encouraged to take part across the city.

Ahead of the national ‘Thankyou Day’ on the 4th July, organisations such as Leeds Rhinos, Leeds Playhouse, First Direct Arena and many more fantastic cultural and leisure organisations across Leeds, have once again pledged to offer discounted prices, even offers and experiences to NHS and frontline workers for their tireless hard work and dedication throughout COVID-19

Leeds Rhinos said:

“We’re proud to be able to give back to all the key workers who have, and continue to, selflessly go above and beyond for others throughout the pandemic.

Our involvement in the ‘Leeds says Thanks’ scheme is a just a small gesture of our gratitude for all those who have supported the city in their professional roles.”

The scheme is set to run until November 2021, so be sure to follow the hashtag #LeedsSaysThanks on social media platforms for the latest updates on special offer and discounts now available or  visit the ‘Leeds Says Thanks’ webpage at: www.leeds.gov.uk/LeedsSaysThanks

Councillor James Lewis, Leader of Leeds City Council, said:

“In Leeds we have such a fantastically diverse and colourful cultural scene which unfortunately has been hard hit by the pandemic. But with signs of normality returning and doors beginning to reopen, it is exciting to see so many local businesses and organisations come together in saying thanks to NHS and frontline workers for their tremendous efforts over the last 16 months.

“I’d like to once again offer my thanks and appreciation to each and every one of them for their truly heroic response to the crisis and hope these special offers will give them something to look forward to.”
