Still time to register for landlord conference
Landlords and letting agents still have time to register for Leeds' fourth annual landlord conference.
Taking place on Thursday 26 November at Pudsey Civic hall, attendees will hear about plans for parts of the private rented sector to regulate itself and advice to landlords on the impact of universal credit.
An exhibition area will also feature a variety of suppliers, support organisations and accreditation schemes.

Brown bin collections suspended for winter
Brown bin collections for garden waste will be suspended for winter at the end of November.
The service will resume in March 2016.
People can check the last day for their brown bin collection at www.leeds.gov.uk/yourbinday.

Tenants help fund community centre kitchen renovation
Leeds City Council tenants have helped a kitchen renovation for a new community café with substantial funding.
Members of the Inner North West Housing Advisory Panel provided £10,000 to go towards OPAL's (Older People's Action in the Locality) renovation of the kitchen at the former Bedford Arms pub. The OPAL team are converting the building into a community centre.
Housing advisory panels are made up of tenants who help the council deliver local housing priorities and fund local projects. To get involved or find out more about funding opportunities see www.leeds.gov.uk.

Get messy at craft event
Youngsters can get messy during a special craft session at Kirkstall’s Abbey House Museum.
The regular event takes place Friday, November 26 from 2pm until 4pm and includes messy arts and crafts for under fives.
Visitors are advised to wear suitable clothing.
Taking part is free and no booking is required, but usual admission applies.

Discovery Centre tour
Visitors to Leeds Discovery Centre can learn more about the art, culture and traditions of the Plains Indians through objects stored at the centre.
The tour takes place on Saturday, November 21 from 10am until 12pm and is free.

The centre is based on Carlisle Road near Leeds Dock.

Photo shocase at Town Hall
Photographs captured by students at Leeds College of Art will be on display at Leeds Town Hall this weekend.
The Being There exhibition runs until December and showcases the work of the college’s BA (HONS) Photography students over the years.
The exhibition is free to enter.
