Leeds Apprentice Recruitment Fair set to headline first direct arena this Monday

This year’s Leeds Apprentice Recruitment Fair is to be held for the first time in the city’s first direct arena next Monday.

Over 90 organisations will be out in force at the arena on Monday 14 March 2016 from 5pm-8pm offering a range of diverse and exciting apprenticeship opportunities in sectors including financial services, leisure, travel and tourism, science, sports, arts, media, publishing and agricultural, horticulture and animal care. Amongst those employers set to feature in the March event will be Volkswagen, British Gas, CILEx Law School, Yorkshire Water, Leeds Grand Theatre, Superdrug, Yorkshire Ambulance, Lloyds Bank, Leeds & York NHS and BT.

Over 1,700 people attended last year’s event at Leeds Town Hall, which made the fair the biggest and most successful of its type in the city, and this is an opportunity not to be missed for young people, parents and carers to find out more about the opportunities available, which could lead to a paid job offering quality training. There is no requirement to book a place at the event, with people able to just turn up on the day.

Councillor Mohammed Rafique, Leeds City Council’s executive member for employment, enterprise and opportunity said:

“We are really looking forward to this year’s Leeds Apprentice Recruitment Fair, will be packed with over 90 employers and training providers from a wide range of different sectors and which will be held for the first time in the fantastic surroundings of the first direct arena.

“Creating meaningful apprenticeship opportunities remains an absolute priority for the council and our partners, and we have found that the Leeds Apprentice Recruitment Fairs are a brilliant way in which young people, parents and carers can find out more about the opportunities available in a relaxed and supportive environment. With so much on offer throughout the evening, I would urge anyone with an interest in an apprenticeship to join us at the arena on the evening of March 14.”
