Good luck message to Leeds Rhinos ahead of Challenge Cup final on Saturday

Leisure and sport

The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Eileen Taylor, and Leader of Leeds City Council, Councillor Judith Blake, have passed on their best wishes to the Leeds Rhinos, ahead of their Challenge Cup final match against Salford Red Devils at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Eileen Taylor, said:

“On behalf of the city, I would like to wish the Leeds Rhinos the very best of luck on Saturday in the Challenge Cup final.

“The Rhinos have shown great determination, fight and skill on the road to Wembley, and we will be crossing our fingers that once again they can bring the Challenge Cup back to Leeds.”

Leader of Leeds City Council, Councillor Judith Blake, said:

“It is of course very disappointing for the Leeds Rhinos and especially their fantastic supporters that the Challenge Cup final will have to be played behind closed doors at Wembley.

“The Rhinos can be assured however that everyone in the city will be cheering them on loudly to what we hope will be another famous victory on Saturday.”
