Final drop-in session to discuss Allerton Grange School expansion plans

The final public drop-in session to discuss the proposed expansion of Allerton Grange School takes place next week.

The session, to be held at the school on Tuesday 26 November from 4.30pm-7pm, forms part of the ongoing consultation into a proposed increase in the number of Year 7 places available at the school from 240 to 300, starting in September 2021. To help meet the needs of the increased number of pupils, extra classroom space and other facilities would be provided on the existing school site.

The proposed expansion aims to help meet the future projected demand in the area. Since 2009, Leeds City Council has created over 12,000 extra primary school places across the city, with these students now preparing to transition into secondary education.

Anyone interested in this proposal is encouraged to complete the online survey before the consultation ends to ensure their views are heard. The survey and further information about the proposal is available here: www.leeds.gov.uk/schoolplaceconsultations.

The consultation runs until 4pm on Tuesday 3 December.
