Final chance to register to vote in local elections in Leeds

Deadline is midnight on Thursday 14 April

Anyone wishing to vote in this year’s local elections in Leeds is reminded the deadline to register is tomorrow.

To be able to vote in the elections taking place on Thursday 5 May, anyone who is not currently registered or has moved home needs to go to https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and register before the deadline of midnight on Thursday 14 April.

The list of candidates standing for election to Leeds City Council can be seen at https://www.leeds.gov.uk/your-council/elections/leeds-city-council-elections, while the candidates for Otley and Horsforth Town Councils can be seen at https://www.leeds.gov.uk/your-council/elections/parish-and-town-council-vacancies.

Anyone wishing to begin voting by post can apply to do so via https://www.leeds.gov.uk/your-council/elections/postal-voting. The deadline for applications for postal voting is 5pm on Tuesday 19 April, and residents are being asked to apply as soon as possible.

Another option available is to vote by proxy, which can be applied for via www.leeds.gov.uk/elections. The deadline for applications to vote by proxy is 5pm on Tuesday 26 April.
