Family fun coming to parks in Leeds this summer

Taking place until Friday 2 September, Breeze will be hosting Breeze in the Park events at locations such as Harehills Park, Scott Hall Playing Fields and Cross Flatts Park.

The events, which are aimed at 0 to 19-year-olds, will run as two separate sessions on the days. With the first session taking place from 12pm to 2:30pm and the second session running from 3pm to 5pm.

Alongside the inflatable obstacle course, families can expect to find a range of entertainment for children and young people to enjoy, including multiple bouncy castles, arts and crafts, interactive play, and fun fair rides (which will be an additional cost).

Breeze in the Park’s performance zone will also see a variety of street entertainment at the events such as the Bread and Butter Theatre Company, who will be bringing their cast of eclectic characters, and Professor Pumpernickel, who will be wowing the crowds with his science shows.

Along with the regular sessions, a number of the events throughout the summer will also be hosting relaxed opening sessions for children and young people with additional needs. These sessions will run from 11am to 12pm at the following events:

Thursday 28 July – East Ardsley Recreation Ground
Friday 5 August – Cross Flatts Park, Beeston
Wednesday 10 August – Kirkstall Abbey
Thursday 18 August – West Park Leeds RUFC, Bramhope

Relaxed opening sessions will have additional staff, donkey feeding, petting, and riding opportunities and children’s entertainment. They will also have minimal queuing, reduced crowds, and designated parking for families.

If families would like to book a relaxed session, they are asked to email breeze@leeds.gov.uk with the following information: name of child with additional needs, age, details of additional needs and number of siblings attending.

Tickets for Breeze in the Park are 50p per child and must be pre-booked in advance. Fast-track to the attractions is also available for those with a Breeze Pass.
