Experience the cuteness of Home Farm’s new arrivals this Easter

A host of cute newborn animals will be the stars of the show as a popular Leeds farm kicks off its special Springtime Babies Easter Celebration event this Saturday.

Held from Saturday 1 April 2017 - Monday 17 April 2017, visitors will be able to see how the new arrivals ranging from lambs and piglets to baby chicks are settling into their new home at Home Farm, and take part in a variety of fun, family-friendly activities.

On offer from Friday 14 April to Monday 17 April down on the farm will be the chance to make your own very own Easter bonnets and top hats and listen to storytelling each day from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm in the Joiners Shop.

There’s a chance to get involved with the ‘Where’s Woolly’ cuddly lamb hunt through Temple Newsam House and farm and enter the prize draw to be in with a chance of winning an ‘eggcellent’ chocolate treat. The house will also host craft activities including Easter bonnet making and egg decorating.

On Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday, there is also an opportunity to join tours at 11am and 2.30pm to find out how bible stories are told in the many paintings on display in the confines of the iconic house.

“Temple Newsam is a fantastic place for people of all ages to enjoy, and we are really looking forward to our Springtime Babies Easter Celebration opening this Friday at the estate and farm.

“As well as having the chance to see close up our very cute new baby animals, we are also offering a range of activities perfect for all the family, which promise to be something not to be missed.”

Temple Newsam is a great place to take the family for Easter with something for everyone including plenty of open space to explore, play and picnic. The Stable Courtyard Tea Room is open daily serving light meals and snacks, while Mrs Pawson’s Shop also in the stable courtyard is a great place to buy Yorkshire produce.

Home Farm offers the opportunity to explore life on a real working farm and meet some extraordinary characters. Over 400 sheep, cattle, pigs, poultry and goats are at Temple Newsam, and there is also the chance to enjoy traditional crafts or take part in demonstrations such as butter making and blacksmithing!

Temple Newsam Farm is open 10am until 4pm (summer hours) Tuesday to Sunday and Mondays in Leeds school holidays. Last entry is 45 minutes before closing.
