Exercise the evening away to dance anthems at Rothwell Leisure Centre

Keen clubbers are being offered the opportunity to exercise and dance to the sounds of their favourite artists, as part of a new fitness class recently launched at a Leeds’ leisure centre.

As part of ‘Clubbercise’ at Rothwell Leisure Centre held every Wednesday from 7.45pm -8.45pm and every Friday from 7pm-8pm, those in attendance can take part in a range of fun and easy to follow dance routines, in an atmosphere more suited to a night on the town. With the lighting dimmed, the fitness session will be electrified for the participants as they exercise to a soundtrack of club anthems accompanied by disco lights and even glow sticks that can be purchased for just £3 at reception.

Perfect for anyone who enjoys dancing and especially for beginners who are looking for an entertaining and enjoyable way to start exercising and keep fit, the first ‘Clubbercise’ class last week proved to be a big hit, and people are urged to reserve their spots early to avoid disappointment. Places can be booked by contacting Rothwell Leisure Centre on 01133367530, or online at: http://www.leeds.gov.uk/sports/Pages/Rothwell-leisure-centre.aspx

Councillor Lisa Mulherin, Leeds City Council’s executive member for health, wellbeing and adults said:

“We are always looking at innovative ways to encourage more people to exercise regularly and stay fit, and I have to say that our new Clubbercise class at Rothwell Leisure Centre has certainly attracted a lot of positive interest which is fantastic.

“Working out to the sounds of classic club anthems, those in the class can enjoy a range of high-energy but easy-to-learn dance routines suitable for people at all different levels, which accompanied by disco lights and glow sticks, really do add some fantastic fun to the evening.

“Our first Clubbercise class at Rothwell Leisure Centre was absolutely packed, and with that in mind, we would ask people to book their places as soon as possible.”
