Don’t miss England’s World Cup campaign on Millennium Square’s big screen

Every second of England’s quest for World Cup glory in Russia will be screened live on a big screen in a popular city centre square.

Once again, England fans of all ages will have the chance to cheer on Gareth Southgate and the boys in a specially created family-friendly viewing area on Millennium Square. England begin their campaign in the group stages against Tunisia (Monday, 18 June, 7pm KO) before taking on Panama (Sunday, 24 June 1pm KO) and Belgium (Thursday, 28 June, 7pm KO). If England qualify from their group, they will then move into the nail biting, sudden death, knock-out stages, and fans have been assured they can watch all of the drama unfold live on Millennium Square, either on Monday 2 July (7pm KO) or Tuesday 3 July (7pm KO) if England reach round 16 and if they subsequently advance to further rounds.

Supporters are advised that gates for each England match will open approximately 1 ½ hours before kick-off. Anyone wishing to attend, are asked to arrive early in order to secure their places as admission will be on a strictly first-come first-served basis until the capacity is reached. No tickets will be issued or required and the outdoor arena will also feature toilet facilities, a limited amount of covered and picnic style seating together with a selection of street food outlets. A strict no alcohol policy will be in place during all England match screenings.

Other World Cup matches will also be screened live on Millennium Square on a non-designated event basis, alongside selected matches from Wimbledon, once the tennis tournament commences.

“We are delighted to officially announce that fans will once again be able to join us this summer on Millennium Square as England begin their World Cup campaign in Russia. The atmosphere for England matches on Millennium Square is always electric, and we are looking forward to providing a fantastic family friendly experience in which to enjoy the big match action.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to the England team ahead of their match at Elland Road on Thursday night. This promises to be a fantastic occasion, and we are extremely proud that Leeds has been chosen as the venue for England’s final warm-up game before the World Cup begins. On behalf of the city, I wish Gareth Southgate, his staff and the England team the very best of luck in Russia.”

In the interest of public safety, the following conditions will apply on Millennium Square for all England Matches:

• Admission is on a strictly first-come first-served basis. No-one will be admitted once safe capacity is reached.
• Strictly no glass, cans or alcohol may be brought into the venue
• No alcohol will be on sale as part of the screenings
• CCTV will be in operation at the event with images recorded for the purpose of crime prevention and public safety.
• Event stewards will be entitled to search all spectators and/or their possessions on entry to venue. Staff will not take any responsibility for prohibited items.
• The organisers reserve the right to cancel transmission for any game and/or or refuse admission for whatever reason.
