Comment from Cllr Judith Blake on Leeds hosting the finish of the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire

Speaking on the news that Leeds will host the finale of the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire on Sunday, May 6, the leader of Leeds City Council Councillor Judith Blake, said:

“I’m absolutely delighted that Leeds has been chosen to host the big finale of next year’s Tour de Yorkshire. Each year this exciting sporting event gets bigger and better and helps to put our region firmly on the map, both nationally and internationally.

“I’m sure people in communities across Leeds will once again create another brilliant and unforgettable atmosphere when the tour arrives next year.”

As part of Stage Four, which has been dubbed ‘The Yorkshire Terrier’, the tour will finish in Leeds on The Headrow in the city centre, which famously in 2014, hosted the start of the Tour de France Grand Départ.
