Chance to find out about exciting Leeds Apprenticeships

Young people in Leeds can find out how to take their first exciting steps on the path to a new career with some of the city’s biggest businesses.

A series of seminars organised by Leeds Apprenticeship Hub will be held at Leeds Beckett University this October and November.

Parents, carers and young people can hear direct from key employers about apprenticeship opportunities with leading global companies with bases in Leeds.

Now in its third year, the series of seminars has seen high profile companies including Asda, BT Group, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Sky and Leeds City Council attending in previous years.

Cllr Jonathan Pryor, executive member for Learning, Skills and Employment said:

“This event, unique of its kind in Leeds, allows parents and young people to consider more options than following the traditional route of university to be able to achieve qualifications ranging from teaching to manufacturing.

“Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about how the apprenticeships work from staff of the companies involved, as well as hear from current apprentices about their personal experiences. It is a really great chance for parents and young adults to explore more how they can achieve their best future.

"As well as information about how to apply for vacancies those attending will also hear from apprentices about their journey and their experiences of gaining qualifications, whilst earning a salary."
