A regeneration scheme has tapped into the rich architectural and cultural traditions of Leeds to help deliver a bright future for a much-loved city centre street.

The spectacular sights and sounds of Light Night Leeds returned to captivate crowds of thousands as this year’s annual cultural extravaganza got underway.

Many of the city’s most recognisable buildings and public spaces were completely transformed by a compelling programme of illuminated artworks from around the world during the first of the event’s two nights.

Thousands of diseased ash trees on private and public land have been identified as in need of removal due to safety concerns, particularly around highways. An interactive map has been created to help landowners understand if they need to take action. 

Political and business leaders from Leeds and Sheffield are travelling to Westminster to make the case for ‘transformational rail investment’ between the two city regions.
