Top traffic and travel tips on twitter


Twitter users are being encouraged to follow Leeds City Council’s new real-time traffic and travel Twitter account; @LeedsTravelInfo to help them avoid the queues and get through Leeds quicker.



The account is run by the team in Leeds City Council who keep an eye on traffic moving through the city, it combines information about traffic lights and delays the team can see on their CCTV, with journey time information from various sources and re-tweets of relevant traffic related news. It’s not just for car users – bus and rail information is included and a cycle route map.



Road users can also help each other by passing on up-to-date news of any problems or delays they encounter via the @LeedsTravelInfo Twitter feed.



This Twitter feed is an extension of the council’s LeedsTravel.info website which contains a vast array of information including: live Leeds CCTV; car park occupancy; journey times; motorway messages; latest road works; taxi rank locations; disabled bays and; live bus, rail and airport data.
