Thousands flock to Leeds’ biggest ever apprenticeship fair.
Young people, parents and carers turned out in their thousands to attend Monday’s Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair which took place on day one of National Apprenticeship Week 2018 (5 – 9 March).
The event which was organised by Leeds City Council’s Apprenticeship Hub and supported by Leeds BID, gets bigger and better each year with approximately 6,500 attendees making this years’ fair the biggest yet!
Councillor Mohammed Rafique, Leeds City Council’s executive member for employment, skills and opportunity said:
“The interest and enthusiasm for apprenticeships, shown in the number of people that turned up for the apprenticeship recruitment fair on Monday, is just wonderful to see.
“The event was all about celebrating apprenticeships as a fantastic opportunity for anyone over the age of 16 to further develop their education and training, while gaining valuable work experience and earning a salary. The fair provided a true sense of opportunity and optimism for the future with some brilliant advice provided from the wide range of exhibitors present on the night.
“The Leeds Apprenticeship Hub works all year round to provide businesses looking to create apprenticeship opportunities with information and advice, as well as supporting aspiring individuals to find and secure apprenticeships that are just right for them.”
