Severe weather warning

A Yellow met office warning is in place for snow and ice until 12 noon on Wednesday. It is likely Leeds will see sustained wintery showers from 2am onwards possibly into morning rush hour causing travel disruption. Snow accumulation is currently difficult to predict and may be localised. Please take extra care on the road and allow longer for journey times.

Leeds City Council gritters covered all primary routes at 6pm tonight and this will be repeated at 5am Wednesday along with city centre footways.
