New phone number for Leeds Community Equipment Service

From Monday 29 September 2014 the Leeds Community Equipment Service (LCES) will have a new phone number.

LCES, a provider of nursing and daily living equipment, is moving from Roundhay Road to a new site at Leeds Dock in LS10 in early October. The new building is called Assisted Living Leeds, and a range of services will be moving there over the coming weeks.

From 29 September there will be a new telephone number for people who want to contact the service to pick up equipment or to report a repair or breakdown. This number replaces the current contact number that is on the yellow label attached to every piece of equipment.

The new telephone numbers can be used from 29th September:

LCES enquiries: 0113 378 3282

Faults / repairs: 0113 378 3302

LCES provides a wide range of nursing and daily living equipment to people at home as requested by their nurse, therapist or social worker. The equipment is provided free on loan and each item has a yellow label providing the contact details if it needs collecting or repairing.

Councillor Adam Ogilvie, Leeds City Council executive board member with responsibility for adult social care said:

“It is important people are aware of this change of phone number, and that it will be in place as of next Monday (29 Sept).

“We will be writing individually to people who have more specialist items to tell them about the changes, and we have already started to inform social care and health staff who are in contact with people using this equipment, as well as providing information at GP surgeries and one stop centres.”

The old phone number (Leeds 0113 247 7387) will be answered until 3rd October, after that the line will remain live with a recorded message for the new number.
