Leeds City Council has today announced the appointment of
Cath Roff as its new director of adult social care.

Cath joins Leeds from Derby City Council where she is strategic
director for adults, health and housing and where she has been a director for
the past four years.

Prior to working at Derby, Cath was director of adults’
services at Sheffield City Council.

She is expected to take up her new role in early spring, 2015.

Cath will take up the position following the retirement of
Sandie Keene last month.

She said: “I’m delighted to be joining Leeds City Council
and I’ve heard a great deal of positive things about the team and the superb
work taking place to help and support vulnerable adults.

“Leeds is a city where there a lot of exciting things
happening in adult social care and I’m looking forward to being involved.”

Councillor Adam Ogilvie, Leeds City Council’s executive
member for adult social care
, said:

“Cath brings a wealth of experience with her and we’re
really looking forward to welcoming her onboard.

“These are challenging times for adult social care in Leeds,
but we also have a great deal to be proud and excited about and I’m sure Cath
will be an asset to the team as we look to continue and improve on the
excellent work already taking place across the city.”
