Further high winds to close Bridgewater Place junction again

The Bridgewater Place junction will close again at 5pm today due to forecasts of increasingly high winds this afternoon. It is not expected to open again until sometime around 11am on Saturday.

Leeds City Council has been closely monitoring wind speeds and although the junction was re-opened when they dropped late this morning, they are due to rise steeply again later this afternoon.

Wind conditions will continue to be closely monitored overnight and further updates will be issued when the closure is likely to be lifted. Anyone likely to be in the area at rush hour today or any time during the closure is advised to take extra travel time into account or make alternative arrangements where possible.

Background information about the specifics of the closures can be found here: http://www.leeds.gov.uk/residents/Pages/BridgewaterPlace.aspx
