Council offers temporary paid casual evening and weekend elections work

Leeds City Council has some vacancies for paid temporary casual work making home visits to help make sure people are registered to vote.

The council’s electoral services section is looking for people to work as electoral registration visiting officers (ERVOs) on behalf of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).

Forms known as Household Enquiry Forms and Invitation to Register Forms were sent in the post to all households in the Leeds area. Under national electoral registration rules visits must be made to those households and individuals if no response has been received to the forms. ERVOs will carry out these visits to encourage people to respond and to pick up the forms from households. This is mainly evening and weekend work and in order to carry out this role you must be able to:

  • Attend training on Saturday 8 October
  • Collect your forms and equipment from Leeds Town Hall on Friday 14 October between 8am and 5pm
  • Carry out visits between Friday 14 October and Monday 21 November
  • Return your forms and equipment to Leeds Town Hall by 5pm on Monday 21 November.

If you would like to be considered for this role please visit www.leeds.gov.uk/elections where details of the payment rates and an application form are available to download.
