City centre road resurfacing work starting next week

Road resurfacing work will be taking place in Leeds city centre from next week.

From Monday 16 November to Friday 27 November, work will take place overnight from Monday to Thursdays to improve the surfaces on Oxford Place and Great George Street.

The improvements up to Westgate and Calverley Street respectively will be carried out from 9pm to 5:30am each night, with full road closures in place and diversion routes signposted.

The resurfacing work will be carried out overnight in order to minimise disruption, with Friday nights and weekends being avoided.

As part of the works, some minor changes will be made to the road markings on Oxford Place, while an additional Advanced Stop Line (ASL) for cyclists will be put in place at the junction where Great George Street meets Calverley Street.

The improvements have been approved by the Metro/West Yorkshire Combined Authority and information on alternative bus routes will be provided at affected stops.
