Car park now rocks around the clock

Woodhouse Lane car park is now open 24 hours a day in preparation for the first acts appearing at the city’s arena.

The refurbished 1,200 space car park is the main parking facility for the first direct arena and new prices match the all-day opening hours with a special tariff for evening arena events.

Having benefitted from a multi-million pound upgrade, the council-run car park offers better security and facilities within a five minute walk of the arena with easy access to the city’s main roads.

Councillor Mark Dobson, executive member for the environment, said:

“This is a small but significant final step to ensure the infrastructure that supports the arena is ready to rock and roll.

“The upgraded facilities, 24 hour operations and competitive prices are the culmination of a long-term plan to ensure we offer a top class facility for a world-class arena.”

The full, new pricing structure for Woodhouse Lane car park is:

• Arena evening events - £5

• 2 hours - £2

• 3 hours - £3

• 4 hours - £4

• 12 hours - £5

• 14 hours - £6

• 24 hours - £10

• 48 hours - £20
