OBE for former Leeds City Council learning improvement officer

A former head of learning improvement at Leeds City Council has been honoured in the Queen's birthday honours list with an OBE. Gail Webb was recognised for her services to education.

Steve Walker, director of children’s services at Leeds City Council said:

“I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to Gail Webb for being awarded a much deserved OBE. It reflects Gail’s lifelong commitment and dedication to ensuring that children and young people reach their potential. Many children have benefitted as a result of Gail’s work. During her time in Leeds Gail contributed greatly to education services and played a key role in helping us achieve our ambition to be the best city for learning.”
